HOW TO CLEAN YOUR ACCESSORIES
A synthetic blend of polyester and polyurethane, Alcantara® mimics suede while being more durable. However, it can absorb oils, accumulate dust, and stain. Without proper maintenance, it risks losing its unique texture. Using the right products and techniques is essential to avoid damage. This guide explains how to clean and maintain your Alcantara® case to keep it looking pristine.
Microfibre cloth:
Gentle on Alcantara®, it removes surface dirt without damage.
Mild soap or specialist Alcantara® cleaner:
Ideal for a deeper clean.
Soft-bristle brush:
A toothbrush or suede brush helps remove ingrained dirt.
Distilled water:
Prevents mineral deposits that can stain the material.
Isopropyl alcohol (optional):
To disinfect without damaging Alcantara®.
1. Remove Dust and Dirt
Use a soft-bristle brush or a dry microfibre cloth to gently remove surface dirt with circular motions.
2. Treat Stains
- Prepare a cleaning solution: Mix a small amount of mild soap with distilled water.
- Dampen a cloth: Dip a microfibre cloth in the solution and wring it out so it is just damp.
- Dab the stain: Press gently onto the stain without rubbing to avoid damaging the fibres. Work from the edge inward.
- Brush if needed: For stubborn stains, use a soft-bristle brush in circular motions.
3. Clean the Entire Case
Dampen a clean cloth with the same solution and wipe the entire case, paying extra attention to frequently touched areas like the edges.
4. Dry Properly
- Pat away excess moisture with a dry cloth.
- Leave to air dry in a well-ventilated spot, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
5. Optional: Disinfect with Isopropyl Alcohol
To disinfect, dampen a cloth with 70% isopropyl alcohol and wipe gently. Leave to dry before use.
Regular cleaning :
Wipe with a dry cloth at least once a week.
Avoid harsh products :
Never use bleach, fabric softeners, or abrasive cleaners.
Minimise oil contact :
Wipe the case regularly to prevent skin oil build-up.
Rotate your cases :
If you have several cases, rotate them to reduce wear.
